Privacy Policy

Welcome to Desi Scores. We built this app to help you track scores for card games like Spades and Rummy with friends and family. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights around it. By using Desi Scores, you agree to the practices described here.

When you create an account, we collect your email address, first and last name, a custom profile ID you choose, and a profile photo if you upload one. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email, and Google profile photo via Google's OAuth service.

We also store game sessions you create, including team names, player names, round scores, and game outcomes. If you use the Friends feature, we store friend request records and your profile ID so others can find you.

We use the information we collect to provide and operate the app, authenticate your account, display your profile and game history, enable the friends system, show player names and avatars in shared game rooms, and send in-app notifications related to your games.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.

All data is stored securely using Supabase, a cloud database platform with row-level security (RLS) to ensure you can only access data you are authorised to see. Profile photos are stored in Supabase Storage. Passwords are never stored in plain text — authentication is handled by Supabase Auth using industry-standard encryption.

We use the following third-party services:

• Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage
• Google OAuth — optional sign-in via your Google account
• Google AdSense — ads to support the service; Google may use cookies for ad personalisation per their own privacy policy
• Resend — transactional emails such as account notifications and feedback responses

We use cookies and localStorage solely to maintain your login session and app preferences. We do not use tracking cookies for advertising unless Google AdSense sets them, which is governed by Google's own privacy policy. You can clear cookies at any time through your browser settings, though this will sign you out.

Your personal information is shared only in these limited circumstances:

• Other players — your display name and photo are visible to participants in a shared game session
• Friends — your display name, photo, and profile ID are visible to friends or users who search your profile ID
• Service providers — only Supabase, Google, and Resend as described above
• Legal requirements — if required by law or to protect our rights

You have the right to access the personal data we hold about you via your Profile page, edit your name, photo, and profile ID at any time, request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us, and request a copy of your data in a machine-readable format.

We retain your personal data for as long as your account remains active. If you request account deletion, we will remove your profile, game data, and personal information within a reasonable timeframe, except where retention is required by law.

Desi Scores is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
